City Safari: Taxi treasure hunts around Edinburgh.

A Typical Safari

A typical treasure hunt could run as follows:

Typical start time 6.00 - 6.30pm. Drinks & Canapés at your office or at the Doric Tavern.
All challengers divided into teams for a 5 minute brief.
Game on … All taxis leave together.
All teams return to base 1hr later, penalty points for lateness.
The results will then be marked & prizes awarded to the winning team. From our experience expect an air of anticipation & competitiveness!

What's involved …

Each team will be provided with an identical set of instructions and will have a local Edinburgh cabbie at their disposal for the duration of the Safari. The aim is to outwit, outsmart and outmanoeuvre your opponent.

You will be given:

A safari bag with 3 sets of clues
£5:00 cash
A Polaroid camera (with 10 shots).

Time is at a premium and you will have to be quick off the mark to complete all the tasks. It's your teams' tactics which will determine how much you achieve and therefore how many points you win.

The Safari is made up of three challenges:

Hunt it: Collect as many pieces of information as possible and write your answers in the appropriate section of the booklet. This will test your general knowledge!
Shoot it: Various photo opportunities will be available to your team, a camera with 10 exposures will be issued. This is great fun and photos are a great moment/reminder of your evening.
Bag it: Collect as many items as possible, putting them into your bag and handing them in on your return to base. Each team will be given ¨5 in cash and this is the only money you may spend.

The competition will be divided equally between the three challenges. The points are shown beside each task in the booklet. Bonus points will be awarded for initiative, imagination and change!
